Clovers & Shamrocks
This 4″ x 4″ embroidery design is in celebration of St. Patricks Day. It is an original design from Jan’s book, The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery, Embellishment & Applique. The instructions for the suggested stitches for the block are also in Jan’s book.
Camellias, A Winter Rose
These sweet Camellias, our Florida winter roses, bring a dash of color to a wintry day. They are hand embroidered with four basic embroidery stitches, making this a beautiful beginner’s project.
Strawberries & Bumble Bee

Stop and Smell the Roses Pincushion Pattern
This simple pincushion pattern is perfect to try the Rubber Band Circle technique for preparing and appliquéing circles. The rose is made up of multiple circles. It was inspired by a flower found in Dimensional Applique by Elly Sienkiewicz. Finished Pincushion: 6″ x 6″.

Merry Christmas! Here is another free pattern for a Christmas Rose. The rose measures approximately 2-1/2″ round. It makes a beautiful ornament, holiday pin, a present topper or embellishment for a quilt block. Enjoy!
Mini Sewing Case
Designed by Jan’s sister, Sandy Amador, this little 4-1/2″ x 5″ sewing case is great for on-the-go sewing, embroidery or even a purse size first-aid kit. The case is designed for no-fray fabrics such as wools, felts, suedes, or ultra-suedes. Any of the 4″ motifs from Jan’s book, The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery, fit perfectly on the front of the case. Pattern and instructions for the rushed rose are included in this pattern. The next Fun step in quilting is to Embellish! Highlight the center of this Dresden Plate with a touch of embroidery and ribbon work to make your plate pop! Sisters’ Garden Mini Quilt
For your stitching pleasure…an enlarged Sisters’ Garden block pattern made into a lovely 30″ x 30″ wool quilt. The pattern sheet includes fabric requirements, supplies and offers suggestions for embroidered embellishment. Use any one of the 16 blocks included in the Sisters’ Garden pattern to design your own wool quilt.
Romantic Baskets Bonus Pincushion Pattern
Here is a simple way to practice stitches and try the techniques for the Romantic Baskets quilt, from making the basket, embroidering handles, and stitching the medallions. This bonus pattern requires a copy of the Romantic Baskets pattern to complete.
Sketch and envision your own stitches and stitch combinations for the Fan Favorite quilt blocks in Embroidery & Patchwork Revisited. To create your doodle pad, print the PDF on 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper. Cut the pages in half to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Punch the top with a 2-hole punch, and tie together with 3/8″ grosgrain ribbon. Print multiples of pages 2 and 3 to give you a wealth of sketching pages.
